Every bag of MarulaFeeds lucerne pellets begins in our own fields in Brits, North West. We grow it, cure it, mill it and bag it ourselves — so we can stand behind every batch that leaves the farm.
Our lucerne is planted, irrigated and managed across our fields in Brits. Soil health, water and cutting cycles are all handled in-house — no middlemen, no mystery inputs.
We cut on a tight schedule timed to leaf-to-stem ratio and weather. Cutting at the right moment is what locks in protein and the deep green colour buyers look for.
The North West sun does the work. Sun-curing preserves leaf, nutrients and aroma — and avoids the scorching and dust you get from over-processed forage.
Cured lucerne is baled and brought straight to our on-farm mill. No long road trips, no third-party handling — the material stays clean and traceable.
The lucerne is hammer-milled to a consistent particle size, then pressed into dense, uniform pellets on Jones Masjiene pellet machines — South African-built equipment we trust for a stable, easy-to-feed, low-waste product.
Pellets are bagged on-site, batch-tracked, and stacked ready for collection or delivery. Every bag traces back to the field and the cut it came from.
